Red Cross Summer Blood Drive
Mon, 06/27/2011 - 13:53 — tvdao
Madison College is responding to an urgent need from the Red Cross on behalf of area patients and is hosting a summer blood drive.
Please consider giving the gift of life by donating blood!
All blood types are needed during the critical summer months as the need increases and supply often decreases when people are busy with summer vacations and trips. Madison College's Fitness, Health and Recreation Center is pleased to answer the call and is hosting a summer drive in an effort to help the blood bank shortages.
In a recent statement, the Red Cross urges those eligible donors with Blood Type O negative to make an even greater effort to give blood this summer as Type O negative blood is always in high demand because it can be transfused to patients with any blood type, especially in emergency situations.
Join Madison College in this call to action and consider donating blood on Friday, July 22 from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m. at Truax Campus, in the Student Lounge.
Pre-register in the Student Life Office or contact ahoffmann[at] matcmadison [dot] edu (Anna Marie Hoffmann) at (608) 245-2116.
