Madison College is part of a team that received a 2011 Project of the Year Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency!
The award was for the Rodefeld Landfill BioCNG Vehicle Fuel Project. The patent-pending biogas conditioning system economically produces biogas-based fuel to power compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles. The BioCNG system fuels Dane County parks and public works trucks.
Madison College donated a fueling trailer for the project. Our diesel students replaced all the electric brakes and rewired the entire trailer lights and brakes.
Meanwhile, our auto body students disassembled the trailer and repaired the panels and repainted the trailer inside and out. It was a semester long project.
Our project partners include the Dane County Solid Waste Department, Cornerstone Environmental Group, ANGI Energy Systems, and Unison Solutions LLC.
