Pat Prihoda's Last Day

Today is Pat Prihoda's last day at Madison College. Many of you know Pat from her many years at the College's auto parts store. Associate Dean Lisa Delany tells us the rest of Pat's story:

Pat PrihodaAfter losing her job, Pat Prihoda was encouraged by a friend to consider classes at Madison Area Technical College. She went to the Downtown campus on Friday, January 10, 1975 to find out about program opportunities. She enrolled in a new program because it did not have a waitlist--the Auto Parts program. She began classes on the following Monday, January 13 (her birthday.) While a student at the College, Pat worked as student help in the Book/Auto Parts store at Commercial Avenue. She later filled a temporary position, then became a permanent employee in November 1978. She has held positions of various titles but always working with the Book/Auto Parts store. Pat is fondly known as Parts Pat. Parts Pat will retire from the College  today--January 13, 2012--on her birthday. Pat once told a supervisor that she was only going to stay at the college until something better came along. That "better" opportunity turned out to be retirement.

Happy Birthday and Good Luck Pat!
