On April 7, Madison College Paralegal Program student Ragini Gupta was awarded one of five $500 scholarships by the national Paralegal honor society, Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX).
Gupta competed for this scholarship by writing an essay that addressed the legal issue of whether illegal adults should be admitted to US colleges as in-district residents and if so, whether they should be eligible to receive financial aid. The chair of the LEX Scholarship Committee described Gupta’s essay as “outstanding.”
Students from 133 LEX chapters throughout the United States compete annually for these scholarships. Since 1999, more than 2000 paralegal students nationwide have been inducted into LEX chapters and honored for their outstanding academic achievement.
The Madison College Paralegal Program has hosted a LEX chapter since 2008.
Induction to LEX at Madison College occurs in the spring, with this year's ceremony set for April 21. Seven Paralegal Program students will be inducted this year.
Please join us in congratulating Ragini Gupta for this exceptional achievement.
