In 2009-10, Madison College distributed nearly $300,000 in private scholarships. In an effort to make external scholarship information more accessible for students, private scholarship listings have been added to askMadisonCollege, replacing the Scholarship Guide. Through askMadisonCollege, students are provided 24/7 access to available scholarships that were previously listed in the guide, as well as many new opportunities.
From askMadisonCollege, students can search by any combination of keywords and if any related private scholarships are available, they are provided in the search results (e.g., students could search “scholarship” or “nursing scholarship”, or even “women” or “WTCS” to get any number of related scholarships). Due to the large number of scholarships posted to askMadisonCollege, students are encouraged to be as specific as possible when searching to ensure they find the types of scholarships that are right for them.
Upon selecting a scholarship posting to view, students will be provided information on eligibility criteria, award amount, application process and deadline. Links to each scholarship’s primary website have been included where available.
To assist students with their scholarship search, an instructional FAQ is available on askMadisonCollege: How do I use askMadisonCollege to search for scholarships? The Scholarships web page continues to provide information on Foundation Scholarships, and now directs students to askMadisonCollege for searchable scholarships. To suggest a scholarship posting not currently listed, please email EnrollmentServicesOperations[at] madisoncollege [dot] org (Enrollment Services Operations).
