Charles Johnson, age 97, of Whitewater, died on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Fairhaven Residential Facility in Whitewater.
He was born in Whitewater, on July 7, 1913, the son of Albert and Ione (Brown) Johnson. He married Emma Millard on March 23, 1935, in Whitewater. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2010. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Whitewater, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, he taught and was the coordinator at MATC in the automotive department, and had previously been a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Madison.
He is survived by his three children, Jeneene Lowe of Wheat Ridge, Colo., Jill (Don) Chase of Menomonie, Wis., and Charles Johnson of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; three grandchildren, Kathyrn (Mark) Jacobson, Michelle Lowe and Tom (Sheila) Lowe; six great-grandchildren, Joshua and Daniel Jacobson, Brittney Kay Lowe, Rachel Ann Lowe, Rebecca Faith Lowe, and Bethany Hope Lowe; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Douglass and Parnell Johnson
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Whitewater, with the Rev. David Huxley and Rev. John Splinter co-officiating. Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
Olsen Funeral Home in Whitewater, is assisting the family with arrangements.
