Madison College Wins Green Award

    Fort Atkinson City Council President John Mielke presenting award to Lynn ForsethOn Tuesday, February 16, Madison College received a “Green Award” from the Fort Atkinson City Council. Lynn Forseth, executive director of economic development, accepted the award on behalf of the college.

    The college received the award in the Community Organization category based on the implementation of the wind turbine erected on the Fort Atkinson Campus in fall 2009.

    The award is part of a recognition program developed by the city’s Climate Protection Ad Hoc Committee, created to address the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement and charged with supporting efforts to lessen harmful environmental impacts with the help of individuals and businesses.

    The College was nominated by Dianne Hrobsky, executive vice president of the Fort Atkinson Chamber of Commerce.
