Madison College Students Participate in Peace Conference

    Recently, nine Madison College students attended the Wisconsin Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies' Annual State-Wide Student Conference at Edgewood College.

    Peace ConferenceAmong the students were four presenters:  Gabriel Feinstein and Naftaly Sitompul, "Call It What It Is: The Tibetan Genocide"; Ahmed Eldomiyaty, "Destruction and Collapse of Historic Buildings and Monuments as a Threat to World Peace: Restoration as Peace Building"; and Sam Osborne, "Modern Branches, Ancient Roots: Conflict, Culture, Economies, and the Environment." Sam Osborne's paper received one of three certificates of exceptional merit and a $50.00 cash prize.

    Also in attendance at the conference were Madison College students Andressa Morais, Nagah Araby Mohamed, Alexander Parcover, Khurram Bashir, and Michelle Delikowski. Students were from Amy Minett's Peace, Conflict, and Literature course and her Global Leadership course for Community Colleges in International Development.
