Madison’s first eco-festival, is back with more food, green gear and eco-friendly fun!
On Saturday, April 16, Isthmus celebrates the fourth annual Isthmus Green Day at Monona Terrace from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Green Day is aimed to help people make life greener and healthier for themselves, our city and the whole planet!
We have an amazing line-up of local speakers to talk about the importance of shortening the distance from farm
to table. Speaking of farming, the Fabulous Beekman Boys from the Planet Green reality show will be our guests -
these ‘accidental farmers’ will share how different it is living with 80 goats, a dozen chickens, two pigs and a diva
llama, than life in Manhattan.
They're planning a townhall discussion on healthy and fresh food in our schools. They'll have farmers, students,
parents and school representatives in on the conversation, be there to get in on the movement!
Bring your friends and whole family to the LEED-certified Monona Terrace: there’ll be great fresh food to taste;
the Family Play Zone for the little ones; learn more about recycling, sustainability, and conservation and get plenty
of things to upgrade the ‘greenness’ of your life and home.
Tickets will cost $5. Children under 12 get in free. Receive free admittance if you walk, bus or bike. Also you can
bring items to donate to Goodwill for free admission too!
Isthmus Green Day sponsors include: Saris Cycling Group, GHC, Whole Foods, Organic Valley, Calvert Funds, La-ZBoy, the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, and MSCR. Media Sponsors include WKOW-TV and Triple M.
