Holiday Party Guidelines

With all of the upcoming Holiday Celebrations, your friendly Campus Scheduling and Event Services/Facilities offices would be happy to assist you with your needs.

There is still time to put in a Catering order before your celebration.

However, if you choose to host a potluck, please follow the guidelines below:
    - By policy, a potluck consists of no more than 60 people and must not be open to the general public. Please follow the Food Safety Guidelines for the safety of your guests. The Madison Department of Public Health has developed a short, handy reference manual on school potlucks. We ask that you distribute this information among your party providers.
    - As host, you must provide all of the serviceware (plates, napkins,  cups, plasticware, serving utensils, etc.) If you forgot something, these items can be purchased from a cashier in the cafeteria at a cost.

While these items are in open places, they are provided for cafeteria customers only and are not free.
    - Flatware - $.50 per dozen
    - Plates - $1.20 per dozen
    - Cups - $1.20 per dozen

    - Event services will provide a limited number of power strips for crock pots, warmers, etc. Electrical items need to be plugged into a power strip with an internal fuse to prevent overloading the electrical circuit.
    - Food must be set up on a table cover for sanitation and clean up.  If you would like, you may rent linen from Catering for $5 per tablecloth (114” x 54”) based on availability.
    - The room must be completely cleaned up by the time you are to vacate.  Our meeting rooms change over often and quickly, please allow the next group to use their time efficiently without the remains from your party.

Call Facilities at (608) 246-6030 if you need some extra help in cleaning up trash; advanced notice is greatly appreciated. Also, if you need the room configuration changed significantly, let CSES know so we can add extra time to your event (if possible) in order to set and reset for the next group.

We appreciate your cooperation during the festive and busy time of the year. Happy Holidays.
