Madison College and MESA would like to invite you to attend Meinhard Hansen, one of Europe's leading green architects, for his presentation on the “Passive House” at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29 in the Truax Campus Student Lounge (room 142).
Discover the Passive House, the world standard for energy-saving construction! Passive Houses achieve enormous energy cost savings through the application of highly energy-efficient building components and advanced ventilation technology. Passive House builders employ a comprehensive approach that results in a price-worthy, high-quality, healthy and sustainably-constructed home.
In Germany, Passive Houses have exceeded the energy savings for heating established in the national standard for new construction by more than 80 percent. Heating costs are only 10-15 Euro ($15-20) per month. Super energy efficiency does not compromise comfort in Passive Houses. Residents who live in Passive Houses enjoy excellent indoor air quality.
Attend and Learn the technical aspects of a Passive House and how this concept has led to extremely high energy standards for more than 300 homes in Freiburg, Germany. Hear how the Freiburg community has reacted to the multitude of successfully completed projects.
