Grammar Boot Camp!

Gammar BootcampThis first session of Grammar Boot Camp will be held Thursday, October 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. in  Room 227 at the Downtown Campus.

This workshop will help students get their usage and grammar “in shape” for college-level writing. Because a two-hour workshop can’t hope to fix all the bad language habits of a lifetime, this seminar will focus on those make or break mistakes that college students still tend to make, whether because of laziness or simple lack of knowledge.

We’ll discuss the importance of careful and informed proofreading, as well as demonstrate and practice using a handbook effectively. You’ll come away with the conviction that it’s worth the effort to “look it up,” rather than simply saying “close enough.”

If you don’t take classes at DTEC, watch for the second offering of this workshop on Tuesday, November. 16. We’ll be face-to-face in the TelePresence room at Truax, working with students at Reedsburg, West, and Downtown.

See the Madison College Writing Center webpage for details on this and other workshops.
