English Instructor Presents Refugee Newspaper

    NewspaperBird Cupps, instructor of English and narrative journalism, was a co-presenter at Northwestern University Conference on Human Rights where she spoke with Bethany Ojalehto about Kanere: The Kakuma News Reflector.

    Kanere is a refugee-run newspaper being published at Kakukma Refugee Camp in Kenya. Bird spent part of her fall sabbatical working with the journalists of Kanere.
