Denim Day a Big Success

Thank you all so very much for your help on this year’s Denim Day effort. All totaled, we raised $2,011.84 over the three-day campaign. That’s almost a $200 increase over last year’s donations!
All of your efforts are sincerely appreciated – from the regional folks who collected at their campuses, to all of the Madison sites who raised money, and to the Truax team that came up with the brilliant idea to sell pink t-shirts and lunch bags from the bookstore (which not only raised money for Denim Day but also helped out the bookstore!). You all rock!
And next year will be even better. Several of you have already volunteered to serve on a committee to plan next year’s campaign, so I’ll be sure to get in touch with each of you next summer to begin planning the 2011 campaign.
Thank you again for donating your time and energy to this important cause. Just to recap what our fundraising efforts will support:
- Lee Laboratories - a collaboration of six of the nation’s leading research institutions to find more effective, less toxic breast cancer treatments,
- The EIF Breast Cancer Biomarker Discovery Project - which is developing a blood test for earlier detection of breast cancer when survival rates are higher,
- Cancer Support Community - and its affiliates nationwide, including Gilda’s Club and The Wellness Community, which provide emotional and social support to all people affected by cancer.
Together we can help in the fight to improve the technologies that detect and treat breast cancer!
