Services: A time of remembrance will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus.
Visitation: A memorial gathering will begin at 5:30 p.m. until the time of remembrance at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, at the funeral home.
Terry L. Humiston, 60, of Columbus passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
A memorial gathering for Terry will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. with a time of remembrance beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus.
Terry was born the son of Joe and Margaret (Morris) Humiston on April 8, 1950 in Mason City, IA. He was married to Kathy Hall on September 18, 1982 in Mankato, MN. Terry was a 1987 graduate of Mankato State University earning a bachelor of science degree in secondary education. He was employed with MATC - Truax Campus in Madison, teaching remedial math at The Learning Center for 18 years until his retirement in 2007.
Terry served as a member on the board of directors of the Columbus Community Garden serving as Garden Coordinator. He enjoyed biking with his family and friends. He loved his cats and his dog, Zoe. Terry loved his wife and children enormously. He will be dearly missed.
Terry is survived by his wife Kathy of Columbus; his children:
Patrick (Angela) Humiston of Madison and Megan Humiston of Winona, MN; his siblings: Harriet (Gordon) Rentz of Stewartville, MN, Pauline 'Rusty' (Robert) Winger of Sparta, TN, Joan (Carl) Sellers of Bemus Point, NY and Jack (Judi) Humiston of Colorado Springs, CO; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Columbus Library Building Fund, Wheels for Winners in Madison, the Columbus/Fall River Food Pantry or the Columbus Community Garden.
