2011 Madison College Athletic Banquet Honors

The Madison College Athletic Department held its 46th annual Athletic Awards Banquet at the H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium on the Madison College Truax Campus. The event honored current and former student-athletes and coaches for their athletic and academic achievements.  

The special awards presented at this year's banquet are as follows:
Madison College Sportspeople of the Year

Mya Flentje - Women's Basketball - Baraboo, WI
Derrick Nillissen - Men's Basketball - Wittenberg, WI

Hall of Fame Inductee

Jon Gruenenfelder - Men's Basketball (1992-94) & Women's Basketball Coach (1995-98)
(Hometown - Blanchardville, WI | Currently Lives in - Sussex, WI)

Doug Redsten Memorial Service Award

Mike Van Veghel - Athletic Trainer & Instructor - Sheboygan, WI

Academic Honors
Madison College student-athletes achieved great success in the classroom last fall as over 41 percent of current student-athletes received academic honors this season. Academic Honorees are listed on the website
