Alternative Break Service Trip Program
We are in the process of determining locations for next year's alternative break trips. Locations will be determined and posted before the start of the fall semester.
Each year, the Volunteer Center & the Center for Student Life at Madison College provides opportunities for students to participate in service trips to various locations in the United States.
In the last decade, Madison College students have served in Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Washington, DC & West Virginia. Students have worked in rural & urban settings. They have worked with domestic & exotic animals. They have tutored children, made & delivered meals to shut-in citizens living with HIV/AIDS. Students have cleaned-up litter in city parks & debris on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. They have removed invasive species & replated native vegetation. Students have torn-down flood-soaked homes, sanded dry-wall & painted newly renovated houses.
Service trips are planned for semester break in early January, spring break in March or April & following the spring semester, in mid to late May.
